Learn more about the history of SpeakOut, one of the UK’s longest-established speaker agencies. Since 1985, SpeakOut have worked with leading speakers, entertainers and hosts across a wide range of events, building a strong reputation for reliability, expertise and personal service.
SpeakOut is the trading name of Celebrity Entertainment Ltd and Speakout Celebrities and Presenters Ltd, both of which developed from a company originally established in 1985 called The Music Company. The business began as an entertainment agency providing reliable and cost effective entertainment to leading hotels on behalf of corporate and private clients. As the business grew and expanded into corporate events and celebrity bookings, the company evolved through several name changes before becoming Celebrity Entertainment Ltd.
Over time, demand for celebrity speakers and personalities increased, leading to the creation of the SpeakOut brand in 2010. The brand brought together the speaker and entertainment sides of the business under one recognisable name. Since then, SpeakOut has worked with a wide range of corporate and private clients across the UK and Europe, building a strong reputation for experience, value and personal service.
Today, SpeakOut continues to grow its roster of speakers and entertainers while maintaining the same reliable and client-focused approach it was founded on.
Timeline
1985 - 2000
The Music Company was established. This was the original company from which SpeakOut was born. This company provided hotels and corporate clients with a full range of live entertainment services across the UK. In 1987, the company was accepted into the Agents’ Association.
2000
Due to the increasingly diverse nature of business, The Music Company then became known by its initials, TMC. The company name was changed to TMC Corporate Events & Entertainment Ltd.
2005
A change in direction saw the company significantly increase its speaker market. It was during this time that the company name was changed again, to Celebrity Entertainment Ltd.
2010
As requests for celebrities and personalities increased, the company name was changed once again to SpeakOut! Celebrities & Presenters Ltd.
2014
Kenny was awarded a Fellowship of The Agents’ Association.
2025
Kenny stepped down as the Managing Director of SpeakOut! to become the Head of Entertainment.
