Craig Hill is one of Scotland’s most recognisable comedy talents, celebrated for his cheeky, irreverent and disarmingly camp stage presence. Craig’s flair for performance was evident early on. At just ten years old, he won a local talent contest in his hometown of East Kilbride with an impersonation of Cleo Laine. He later moved to Edinburgh to study Drama at Queen Margaret College, graduating in 1994. Although he initially worked as an actor in Theatre in Education and pantomime, his natural instinct for comedy, writing and improvisation gradually drew him towards stand-up. His first performance came unexpectedly in 1998, when a friend secretly booked him for an open spot. Nervous to the point of needing a push onto the stage, Craig quickly found his calling and never looked back.

His breakthrough in broadcasting came in 2002 with his own BBC Radio Scotland series, Craig Hill’s Passionate Encounter. He went on to host the BBC radio comedy quiz Famous For Five Minutes, further cementing his reputation as a distinctive comedic voice. On television, Craig appeared in every episode of the first two series of BBC Scotland’s Live Floor Show, remaining a regular when it moved to BBC Two. He also fronted his own television programme, Craig Hill’s Out Tonight, showcasing his unique blend of humour and performance style to a wider audience.

A regular highlight of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Craig has delivered sell-out solo shows for over 17 consecutive years and continues to tour extensively across the UK and internationally. In 2025, he returns to the Fringe for his 18th year with his latest show, Wait ‘Til You See My Entrance. Career highlights include a standout solo set at the London Palladium, a co-hosting role in the UK tour of Eurobeat, and hosting exclusive events such as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sydmonton Festival. One memorable example saw him sell out every seat during a record-breaking Fringe season, underlining his lasting appeal and consistent demand.
