Jim Robertson is an after dinner speaker, known in legal circles as James R Robertson LLB DFM NP.  He was born and bred in Airdrie and when asked if he has lived there all his life, Jim Robertson replied, “not yet”.

Jim has worked as a criminal defence solicitor in Airdrie for 15 years. He joined the Procurator Fiscal service in 1989. Since then, Jim Robertson has worked in Lanark, Hamilton, Stranraer and Kirkcaldy. This was all before being appointed Assistant Procurator Fiscal for the East of Scotland, in 2012.

Jim is a keen golfer and has been a member of the Golf House Club in Elie for over 25 years.  He has spoken at many prestigious golf dinners.  The most recent being the 250th Anniversary Dinner of Edinburgh’s Bruntsfield Links Golf Society. He has also spoken at the Captains and Secretaries of Northumbria Dinner.

Jim Robertson is in great demand as a speaker for numerous Corporate, Society and Institution Dinners> He has also spoken at many of Scotland’s famous Wits Dinners.  Jim is the only person to have won the Wit of the Year, the Wit of Wits and the aptly named, Witiest Wit of Wits. This was at the St. Columba’s Hospice Wits Dinner in Edinburgh.

A long time admirer of the works of Robert Burns, Jim Robertson has been invited to speak at many Burns Suppers, both at home and overseas. He has proposed the Toast to the Immortal Memory at the largest Burns Supper in the Southern Hemisphere. This was in Cape Town, South Africa.
