Martin Geissler is a Scottish born International News Correspondent currently working for BBC Scotland. Known for his coverage of all the main national and also international stories, Martin’s work to date has taken him around the world, from South Africa to Iceland.

Martin worked with a number of well known stations. These included, Sky, Grampian and also Tyne Tees. STV was probably where he was best known, presenting Scotland Today. In 2002 Martin was again being seen by the nation when he moved to ITN. He was now ITN’s Scotland Correspondent. His background and skills were put to good use as he frequently reported on major international events, incidents and stories. These included The Gulf War in Iraq and also the 2004 tsunami in Asia.

In 2006 Martin Geissler became ITN’s Africa Correspondent and by 2010 he had become their European Correspondent. Just 18 months later Martin was back in the UK. He was now a UK Correspondent, covering the North of England.

Martin has won a number of awards for his International work. One such award was for his 2017 ITV News report on the Opioid Epidemic in the USA.

In 2019, Martin Geissler took over as anchor of BBC Scotland’s flagship daily News channel, The Nine, which broadcasts live from BBC’s Pacific Quay in Glasgow.
BBC’s Rebecca Curran joined Martin to co-host. Rebecca had originally reported from the newsdesk at BBC in Aberdeen.

Martin Geissler is now back home in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. Married with two children, Martin is a huge Hearts supporter. He is now available to speak at events, host awards and facilitate at conferences.
