Email Agent of Michelle Thomson MSP

Michelle Thomson MSP is the SNP’s current member for Falkirk East.

She was a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland having been a professional pianist before becoming a conductor and composer in a small repertory theatre. As an early adopter of using IT to compose music, she then completed a Masters in IT before moving into corporate life where she delivered large change programmes in a variety of senior roles over 23 years.

Michelle Thomson MSP then set up her own property company before becoming a sought after speaker for the pro-Independence business community in the Scottish Independence Referendum of 2014. She spoke at hundreds of events across Scotland, at The Guildhall in London and was a regular contributor on every main media channel on TV and radio.

She then became the MP for Edinburgh West. Michelle wanted to be a force for positive change but instead found herself at the heart of a media storm. Accusations of financial fraud against a former business advisor were turned on her despite the judiciary making clear that Michelle was not under investigation. Unable to defend herself, she resolutely continued in her role as an MP and led a variety of public enquiries. These included that of Sir Philip Green of BHS and Mike Ashely of Sports Direct as a member of the Business Select Committee as well as being the Vice-Chair for various All Party Parliamentary Groups. This included speaking in The Great Hall of the People in Beijing. In one of the most powerful speeches of the last Parliament she spoke honestly about a personal rape at the age of 14 moving Speaker John Bercow to tears.

Michelle Thomson MSP then set up Momentous Change Ltd. This was with a former colleague Roger Mullin. Together, they released comprehensive research into the sentiment of senior business leaders in Scotland about Brexit. She became an Ambassador into the All Party Parliamentary Group into Fair Business Banking for SMEs. Here she divided her time between London and Edinburgh. She was a panel contributor to Scotland Tonight and was a panellist in the Management Today ‘Inspiring Women’ Conference, held in Edinburgh.

Michelle was appointed to the advisory board of the African Entrepreneurial Network in Kenya and part of her role involved mentoring young women.
