Email Agent of Rob MacLean

Rob MacLean is one of the best known names and faces in Scottish Sports Broadcasting.

His radio career began with the Aberdeen local radio station Northsound where he commentated on the Dons European Cup Winners Cup triumph in 1983 (as a child prodigy, he insists) and went on to become head of News and Sport.

Rob switched to television and was a News Reporter with the BBCs Reporting Scotland programme before joining the rival STV show Scotland Today as a sports presenter.

After covering the 1990 World Cup finals, he returned to the Beeb as presentercommentator on Sportscene and ventured into light entertainment as front man for the Scottish output of Children in Need and the comedy quiz show Caledonia MacBrains.

After 14 years with the BBC, during which time he covered another two World Cups, in 1998 and 2002, Rob left to join Setanta Sports as presenter of its live Clydesdale Bank Premier League Coverage.

He fronted Setantas popular live SPL football for five years up until the company’s UK operation went into administration. Rob kept busy though , regularly commentating for BBC Scotland on a freelance basis and also presenting the high profile Champions League coverage for STV.

Now Rob is returning as the face of football on BBC Scotland. This high profile appointment will see Rob present the Beeb’s live television matches and their highlights programmes from the start of season 2010-11.
Rob will also commentate for Radio Scotland.

When not doing his media job, Rob is much in demand as a host for live events, including roadshows, seminars and conferences.
