Scott Bennett is a comedian and comedic writer with a host of comedy awards under his belt. His career started almost 15 years ago and he’s been on the up ever since. His shows have been nominated for Best Show at a Comedy Festival and he was named two years on the trot as “One To Watch” by Chortle the UK’s comedy guide.
In 2022 Scott Bennett was nominated, Best Club Comedian in the Chortle awards.
A comedian from Yorkshire, Scott Bennett’s debut show at the Edinburgh Fringe called ‘About a Roy’ was nominated for an Amused Moose Award. It then ended up being chosen as one of the top 10 shows of the Fringe. The show was Scott talking about his father Roy, who he saw as a typical Yorkshireman.
Scott missed the 2025 Fringe due to being on his 2025/26 Blood Sugar Baby and Stuff tour which has so far, completely sold out.
TV & Radio:
Going back to 2021, Scott Bennett had arrived on our TV screens. BBC’s Live at the Apollo was one of the first but he had already been featured in BBC’s Live from The Fringe a couple of years earlier. Radio had also beckoned, with appearances on The News Quiz, The Now Show and also Sarah Millican’s Elephant in the Room.
Lockdown in 2020, for many comedians was a disaster but Scott decided to broadcast his comedy from his garden hut. Entitled ‘Stand Up from the Shed‘. Scott was streaming a weekly hit show which was noticed and covered by both BBC and Sky News among others. That wasn’t all, Scott began appearing in adverts for the Nationwide Building Society.
Tour Support:
Scott is a popular support act on UK tours. To date he has supported Rob Brydon, John Bishop and Jason Manford among others. Michael McIntyre had Scott working with him on his London show, Work in Progress which he later toured all over the UK. It was during this time at the West End’s Duchess Theatre that a number of guests appeared. These included Kerry Godliman, Ed Gamble and Russell Kane.

Writing:
In addition to Scott’s work as a stand up, he is also a popular comedy writer. He was a programme associate on First and Last with Jason Manford for BBC One. Then he was a writer for The Chris Ramsey Show on Comedy Central. Scott has also written stand up for a number of mainstream comedians. These include Jason Manford and Rob Brydon. He has also worked extensively for BBC in both radio and television and was one of the main writers on the BBC1, Little Mix – The Search. This was hosted by Chris Ramsey.
As a filmmaker and writer of comedy shorts Scott Bennett had his work officially selected for The Beeston Film Festival and the New York City Comedy Shorts Festival.
