Simon Jack is the BBC’s Business Editor who is also the Business and Economics Presenter on Radio 4’s flagship Today Programme. Simon is known for being a financial journalist, broadcaster and was the face of BBC Breakfast’s business news.
Simon is also the Co-Presenter of the podcast, Good Bad Billionaire which was voted, Best Business Podcast 2024 at the British Podcast Awards.
In 2015 Simon filmed a special and very personal edition of Panorama, in which he investigated why more middle-aged men kill themselves than any other group.
He has presented business news on the BBC’s One o’clock, Six o’clock and Ten O’Clock News. During the banking crisis in September 2006 Simon covered the Federal takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He also covered the Bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, the bailout of AIG and the Lloyds TSB takeover of HBOS.
Prior to entering the world of news-casting, Simon Jack spent ten years in commercial and investment banking. He did this in London, New York and Bermuda. He also has a degree in Politics Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.
Simon Jack wrote a column on money for the 200th issue of Men’s Health.
