Comedian, Television Presenter, Host of RTÉ’s The Late Late Show, BBC The One Show Presenter

Patrick Kielty is a comedian from Belfast. He earned acclaim in 1995 with his Patrick Kielty Tonight show. After this, he went on to star in The Stand-Up Show and host The National Lottery Big Ticket.

Patrick Kielty attended Queens University and has apparently always been a bit of a laugh. He is also famous for doing off the wall things like taking the entire audience to the pub after the show.

Patrick presented the BBC’s answer to ‘Pop Idol’, ‘Fame Academy’ alongside Cat Deeley.

He hosted the Hot Press Irish Music Awards. Having interviews stars such as Heidi Klum, Steve Coogan, Kelly Brook and James Nesbitt our Patrick wasn’t about to get tongue tied at the side of U2 and also The Corrs. Needless to say, the night was a complete success!

In more recent times Patrick has become a regular presenter on BBC’s The One Show.  He also has a thriving acting career which all took off when in 2007. Patrick starred in a production of Kenneth McAllister’s A Night in November. This was also in his home town of Belfast.

Patrick took on a documentary in 2021 for BBC called Patrick Kielty: One Hundred Years of Union. He investigated after 100 years since Northern Ireland was created, a new trade border in the Irish Sea has sparked a new wave of unrest.

After 7 years off the road, 2022 saw Patrick Kielty embark on his brand new, UK and Ireland tour called Borderline.  He also starred in his very first feature film called Ballywalter.

Probably the biggest news for Patrick was in 2023.  It was announced he was to be the next host of RTE’s The Late Late Show. The show which has been running since the 60’s will see Patrick take over from Ryan Tubridy who had also been hosting the show for the last 14 years.
