Sustainability Expert, Natural England’s Chairman, Friends of The Earth’s Director & Special Adviser to The Prince of Wales

Tony Juniper is a sustainability expert, campaigner, writer and well-known environmentalist. For over thirty five years Tony has worked for change toward a more sustainable society at local, national and international levels.

He was England, Wales and Northern Ireland’s Executive Director of Friends of the Earth. For eight years he was also Vice Chair of Friends of the Earth International. Tony Juniper stood for the Green Party in Cambridge in 2010. In 2019 he also became chairman of Natural England.

Tony is an Honorary Fellow at the Institute of Environmental Sciences and also at the Society of the Environment. He was awarded the Rothschild Medal by The Royal Society of Wildlife Trust. He is also Patron of the institute of Ecology and Environmental Management. Tony also received the Chromy award from the Conscience Institute in Monaco. He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science Degrees in 2013 by the Universities of Bristol and Plymouth.

There are also a number of advisory panels that Tony Juniper speaks and writes for, mainly on environmental issues.  He has campaigned and published his thoughts on Nuclear Power which he is very much against.
