Theresa Talbot is a broadcast journalist, radio producer, published author and BBC Radio Scotland presenter. Theresa is well known for being the voice of BBC Radio Scotland’s Traffic and Travel.
She has worked as a reporter/newsreader with Radio Clyde and as news editor of 96.3Qfm. Theresa has covered various stories, the Dunblane tragedy, the death of Princess Diana, and the Glenochil Prison Riot in 1997.
Theresa has had many roles whilst at BBC Radio Scotland, from radio producer, news reader, traffic reporter, one of which was hosting the weekly gardening phone- in programme ‘The Beechgrove Potting Shed’. She has also enjoyed success as a freelance documentary maker with BBC Radio 2. This allowed her the opportunity to work beside Andy Williams, Glen Campbell, and Lulu. Theresa also does freelance comedy writing for BBC Radio Scotland.
Theresa is a regular on ‘The John Beattie’ programme and has been a guest on the hilarious ‘Off the Ball’ programme with Tam Cowan and Stuart Cosgrove. She gained a M.A (hons) in Economic History from the University of Glasgow and also holds a HNC in Garden Design and Horticulture, as well as an ABPI Diploma (Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry) This allows her to speak on a wide variety of topics.
Being a BBC Radio Scotland presenter means Theresa Talbot is very comfortable speaking in front of large audiences, as well as working with smaller groups for media training purposes. As an experienced journalist she is happy to host corporate events and chair panel-led discussions.
In 2018 a fairly new career as an author attracted press attention. She has a series of crime thrillers published. Theresa also has had features published in the Daily Record, The Sun and the Irish Voice. She has also appeared at literary festivals across Scotland and has shared the spotlight with the likes of Kirsty Wark, James Naughtie, Christopher Brookmyre and Irvine Welsh.
Theresa is in demand to host corporate events, and recently hosted The Ayrshire Association of Business Womens Inaugural Conference, appearing alongside guest speaker Midge Ure.
When she is not working her passions are Yoga & her hens.
