Aisling Bea is an Irish comedian, actress and writer. She first appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012 when she scooped the ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ award. The following year Aisling was nominated as The Best Newcomer for her show C’est La Bea. More awards arrived and it wasn’t long after, she began making guest appearances on comedy panel shows.

Television:
Aisling continues to have an extensive acting career which started as far back as 2009 when she appeared in a number of episodes of Fair City. This is Ireland’s longest running, award winning soap opera.

In 2022, she appeared in a New Year special of Dr Who with Jodie Whittaker, who was the 13th Doctor. In 2024 she appeared on Prime TV’s Last One Laughing Ireland hosted by Graham Norton. 2025 saw the UK version air, hosted by Jimmy Carr.

Aisling Bea 3aWAs well as Aisling Bea’s live work, Aisling has fast established herself as a regular on television. She has performed stand-up on BBC 1’s Live At The Apollo, BBC 3’s Russell Howard’s Good News and Channel 4’s Comedy Gala.

Channel 4 commissioned Aisling’s comedy, This Way Up. Staring and written by Aisling, this comedy drama is about an Irish woman living in London and trying to recover from a nervous breakdown. It started airing in 2019 and a second series was released in 2021. She won BAFTA’s Breakthrough Talent and in 2022, was nominated Best Performance by a female at the TV Awards.

Aisling also appears regularly on panel shows such as Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, BBC1’s Would I Lie To You and BBC2’s QI. She has also been a team captain on 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
