Alan Titchmarsh is one of Britain’s most well-known and best-loved gardeners, having fronted the BBC’s hugely successful Ground Force along with Tommy Walsh and Charlie Dimmock and also BBC’s Gardener’s World. He has twice been named Gardening Writer of the Year and currently contributes to The Express and The Radio Times.

How To Be A Gardener, the book which accompanied his latest BBC gardening series, topped the UK bestsellers list. His current television projects include Royal Gardeners and The Natural History of Britain for the BBC. He was also seen hosting some of the BBC Proms (including the last night).

Moving away from gardening and with Alan hitting his 70s he decided to do a bit of stage acting. He appeared in the final act in Sister Act: The Musical as The Pope
