Charlotte Edwards CBE is one of the greatest figures in women’s cricket, remembered as both a prolific batter and an inspirational leader. Making her debut for England at just 16 years old, she went on to become the country’s most capped player and captained the side for a decade. With achievements including a World Cup win and a World T20 title, Charlotte has left an indelible mark on the game. Today, she is a coach, commentator and keynote speaker, celebrated for her insight, leadership and influence on the future of women’s cricket.

Charlotte burst onto the international scene in 1996, becoming the youngest player ever to represent England, and by 1999 was the youngest Englishwoman to score a Test century. Her talent and determination saw her accumulate over 10,000 international runs across formats, including 23 Test matches, 191 ODIs and 95 T20 internationals. Appointed captain in 2006, she guided England to World Cup and World T20 success in 2009, as well as multiple Ashes triumphs. Individually, she was named ICC Women’s Player of the Year in 2008, Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2014, and received both an MBE and CBE for her services to cricket.

Following her retirement from international cricket, Charlotte has carved out a successful coaching career, becoming Director of Women’s Cricket at Hampshire, Head Coach of the Southern Vipers, and leading the Southern Brave in The Hundred. Her name has been immortalised in English cricket, with the domestic T20 competition renamed the Charlotte Edwards Cup in 2021.

Charlotte has contributed to cricket through her extensive media work, regularly appearing as a pundit and commentator for Sky Sports. She provides in-depth analysis of international and domestic matches, drawing on her unique experience as one of England’s most successful captains. Her media presence, alongside her coaching career, has made her a vital advocate for the women’s game and a role model for the next generation of players.

“Yesterday was great and Charlotte could not have been better … she’s a truly inspirational speaker and we really appreciated her fully embracing our brief too. Could you please pass on our thanks to her …. with knobs on!” – Ken, Queens College

‘From the moment we had identified the speaker who matched our needs, Champions Speakers were simply outstanding. Their regular communication, prompt replies to questions we had and reassurance that our requirements were being fulfilled left me feeling that we were in expert hands. Given this was the first time we had used an agency to source a speaker, I felt completely understood and was not disappointed. We will certainly be recommending their services to other schools and be using them ourselves in the future.” – Jamie, Berkhamsted Prep School

“Charlotte was amazing. She was very down to earth and easy to approach. We were particularly delighted when she kicked her shoes off and got in the cricket nets with the pupils to bat a few balls. Fabulous.” – Victoria, Oswestry School

“Charlotte Edwards was an excellent guest speaker. Engaged with many of the attendees informally and her talk/speech/presentation was excellent and well received prompting a range of questions that she answered with aplomb.  I would definitely rate her “5 stars or 10/10” and have no hesitation to giving her the highest recommendation.” – Mike, Rotary Sports London

“I would just like to say what a fantastic success our cricket day was, although the weather was not kind to us, Charlotte and Lydia were absolutely amazing and it was such an honour to have them there for the day, they created such excitement for everyone present.” – Karen, J.A.A.R.

“I want to extend a personal thank you for joining us at Lloyd’s for our International Women’s Day event last week. It was fantastic to hear your story and perspective as we discussed life’s challenges and choices, and most importantly how to respond to them. We were joined by more than 200 women (and a few men) in the room and more than 400 people tuned in to our live broadcast stream.  The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive – so many were truly inspired by listening to what you have achieved.  Getting that life balance right was the advice that resonated with me so much. Thank you again for being part of our push for inclusive progress in the insurance sector and more broadly across society. Your contribution was hugely valued and it was a real pleasure to meet you.” – Inga, Lloyds of London

“Everything went really well some great feedback and Charlotte’s speech was well received by the audience. Very inspirational particularly for the women in the audience working in the male dominated bread industry!” – Amy, FOB
