Des McKeown played professional football for 16 years with Celtic, Airdrieonians, Queen of the South and Partick Thistle just some of the clubs he represented.

After an horrific leg break in 2002 he retired from the game only to return as manager of Stenhousemuir for three years before becoming a pundit for BBC Radio and TV, Radio Clyde, Central FM, PLZ Soccer and STV.

Des McKeown has a weekly column in the Scottish Sun and had a book published in 2001 called ‘Don’t Give Up The Day Job – A year in the life of a part-time footballer’ which received rave reviews from all sections of the game.

He was a match analyst for Scotland’s national side during Craig Levein’s time as Head Coach as well as a being part of the SFA’s scouting staff.

Des is now a regular speaker on the After Dinner Circuit and is a Director of an office supplies company and 360 Sports Consultancy.

He lives in Cumbernauld with his wife Carolyn and their two daughters Danielle and Taylor who occasionally see him whenever he is not running marathons and participating in cycling challenges for Macmillan Cancer Support – a charity that together with a group of friends and family he has managed to raise in excess of £750,000 since 2003.
