Hazel Irvine is a television presenter, speaker and event host. She is one of BBC Sport’s most versatile, most experienced and instantly recognisable broadcasters. A former presenter of Grandstand and Sunday Grandstand, she remains a lead presenter in snooker, athletics and other sports. In golf, she has been the anchor for the Women’s Open and co-presenter on The Open. She also covered The Masters, The Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup.

Hazel has been an integral part of the BBC’s coverage of all major events over the last 30 years.  She has presented and reported from 14 Winter and Summer Olympics, fronted BBC Sport’s golf coverage for 25 years, snooker for 15 years and also anchored coverage of both athletics and “Ski Sunday” for over a decade. Hazel Irvine’s many varied credits also include the World Cup Finals, London Marathon, Grandstand, the Boat Race, Wimbledon and Final Score.

Hazel Irvine hosted the coverage of the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings. She also presented a number of magazine programmes. BBC2’s The Air Show and Feeling Good, a health and wellbeing series. Others include, Outside Now, a leisure and activities series for BBC Scotland.  Hazel has hosted the channel’s Children In Need appeal for 10 years and anchored its Millennium Night coverage.

Much in demand for corporate work, Hazel Irvine has hosted the prestigious Royal Television Society’s Sports Awards. She was also the recipient of the RTS Award for Best Regional Presenter Reporter.

Hazel Irvine is a graduate of the University of St Andrews where she gained an MA Honours degree in Art History. She has representative honours in golf, netball and athletics and gained a full vest for athletics from Scottish Universities. In addition, she is the Chairman of the West of Scotland Institute of Sport and is proud to be the Honorary President of the Dumbarton Football Club Supporters Association.
