Jason Robinson is one of the most celebrated figures in international rugby, best known for scoring England’s only try in the 2003 Rugby World Cup final. As the first Black British man to captain the England Rugby Team, he broke barriers while excelling in both Rugby League and Rugby Union. With 281 Rugby League games, 171 tries, three World Cups, five Lions caps and captaincy of Sale Sharks to his name, Jason’s career is marked by extraordinary sporting achievements and the prestigious recognition of both an MBE and OBE.

Jason began his rugby journey at Wigan, where his pace and ability to outmanoeuvre defenders made him a standout in Rugby League. His success continued as he transitioned to Rugby Union, representing Bath, Sale Sharks, Fylde, England, Great Britain and the British & Irish Lions. At Sale Sharks, Jason played 159 matches, secured 248 points and captained the team to landmark achievements, including winning the European Challenge Cup and the 2005 Guinness Premiership title. On the international stage, he earned 51 caps for England, scoring 28 tries and leading the national side as captain in 2004, as well as appearing in three Rugby World Cups.

Following retirement from professional rugby, Jason moved into leadership and business, becoming a Non-Executive Director of Sale Sharks and founding both JR Talks and JR Sports Stars. His expertise has also been recognised by leading organisations, with ambassadorial roles for Vodafone Business, Wilson James, TXM Recruit and CamperKing. From his early playing days to his present influence in business and sport, Jason’s career reflects consistent excellence, resilience and leadership.

Jason has contributed to the sporting and business world not only through his career but also by sharing his experiences in wider media. He authored ‘Finding My Feet’, a memoir that explores his journey from adversity to sporting triumph. Through JR Talks, Jason produces content that inspires future generations, while his television and radio appearances continue to spotlight diversity, inclusion and resilience in elite sport. His presence across multiple platforms ensures his story resonates far beyond the pitch.
