Jon Culshaw is an impressionist who after winning Radio 1’s Talent 93, joined the Spitting Image team where he provided voices for over forty characters.

He also provided the impressions for Capital FM’s Steve Penk Show, and made headlines when, with an impression of William Hague, he got through to the 10 Downing Street switchboard and spoke to Tony Blair live on air.  He then had regular appearances on the Chris Moyles show on Radio 1.

Jon was part of the team on Radio 4’s award winning comedy impression show, Dead Ringers.  The show started as a radio show in 2000 and arrived on television in 2001. It starred Jon and Jan Ravens along with many others. Dead Ringers returned to Radio in 2014 this time with Lewis MacLeod, Debra Stephenson and Duncan Wisbey doing the voices.  Between Radio and TV there were almost 150 episodes.

In his spare time, Jon is a very keen amateur astronomer which has seen him appear a number of times on BBC’s The Sky at Night. In his first appearance he put his impressions to good use by impersonating Sir Patrick Moore.

More recently in 2021 Jon Culshaw impressionist appeared on Celebrity Mastermind. His specialist subject was “Doctor Who – the Jon Pertwee Years”.  Jon does a great Tom Baker (4th Doctor) and has been a fan of Doctor Who for many years. He has actually voiced the part of the Brigadier in a 2017 audio set.
