British Paralympic Cyclist, Silver Medal Winner, World Para-Triathlon Champion & Adventurer
2012 Paralympic silver medalist, and member of British Cycling GB squad, Karen Darke has an adventurous spirit and, amongst other achievements, she has cycled the length of Japan by handbike, skied across Greenland, climbed El Capitan and been crowned the 2009 World Para-Triathlon Champion.
Karen Drake has an adventurous gene, she says “life in a wheelchair is full of unexpected adventure”. Karen was a keen runner, climber and all round outdoor addict, and then at the age of 21, she fell off a cliff and became paralysed from the chest down. There begins the opening chapter of her book ‘If You Fall…’ and the beginning of an extraordinary new life.
