Martine Wright MBE is a survivor of the 7/7 London bombings who has transformed personal tragedy into an extraordinary story of resilience and hope. Severely injured in the attacks, she went on to rebuild her life, becoming an elite Paralympian and captain of the British sitting volleyball team. She has since earned recognition as a broadcaster, author and advocate for disability awareness. Martine’s life changed forever in 2005 when she was caught in the London terrorist attacks, sustaining life-changing injuries that resulted in the loss of both legs. Refusing to let the tragedy define her, she rebuilt her life with remarkable determination, learning to walk again and embracing new challenges. Her resilience led her to discover a passion for sport, where she rose to captain the British sitting volleyball team and proudly represented Team GB at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Martine has skydived, earned a pilot’s licence, and built a career as a presenter, reporting on global events such as the Paralympics and the Invictus Games for the BBC and Channel 4. She has also spoken at some of the UK’s largest venues, including Wembley Arena and the O2, inspiring audiences of more than 10,000 people. Her service to sport and advocacy was recognised when she was appointed MBE in 2016, and she has been celebrated as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in British Sport by The Independent.
