Most recognisable for being the Spanish food expert on BBC Radio 4’s The Kitchen Cabinet, Rachel McCormack is also known as a regular on BBC Scotland’s Breaking The News and as a whisky writer due to her debut book, Chasing The Dram.

Rachel has travelled throughout her varied life and career and has done everything for presentations in Oman in the Middle East to members of the mobile industry, to tarot card readings at Highland Games in rural Scotland (next to the piping competition).

She has also hosted and presented at various food and drink festivals throughout the UK and in Spain from whisky tastings to cooking demonstrations with her customary warmth and wit making her sessions very popular with both the audience and the organisers.

Rachel lived in Spain for most of her twenties and is fluent in Spanish. She has worked in teaching, in call centres and in the mobile phone industry. She was instrumental in helping to create the street food revolution in London as she set up the Ropewalk section of the Maltby St market in 2012. Rachel had her own documentary on BBC Scotland, The Ideal Scotsman. Also, watch out for Rachel’s Whisky Podcats which she started broadcasting.
