Robin Knox Johnston CBE is a professional seaman, experienced in the Merchant Navy (13 years) Royal Navy (Reservist for 28 years) and also one of the World’s best known yachtsmen with some 600,000 miles of experience.
He was the first person to sail single handed non stop around the world 1968-69, a total of 312 days at sea.
Sir Robin Knox Johnston was holder of the British Trans-Atlantic sailing record, 10 days, 14 hours, 9 mins. He held the record until 1997. Sir Robin was also holder of the Fastest circumnavigation record with Enza in 1994. He held the record for the next three years until it was broken in 1997.
Robin Know Johnston has been a prolific writer over the years with a number of book published. His latest book and autobiography Running Free was published in 2019.
