Steph began her career at the BBC as a producer on Radio 4’s Today programme before progressing to lead producer for business news across the BBC’s One, Six and Ten O’Clock News, working closely with leading financial journalists. Alongside BBC Breakfast, Steph expanded her broadcasting portfolio by co-presenting Shop Well for Less and joining the Watchdog team, while also appearing across BBC Radio 5 Live, CBBC and BBC Two. She became a regular panellist and host on Have I Got News for You, showcasing her versatility across both serious journalism and entertainment. In 2019, she left BBC Breakfast to launch Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4, a daily live programme blending news, lifestyle and current affairs. Her career has since diversified further, including her acting debut in Smoggie Queens and presenting Farm 999. In recognition of her impact, she was named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering for her advocacy in STEM.

Steph expanded her portfolio into publishing with her debut novel Deadline in 2025, a media-focused thriller drawing on her experience within broadcast journalism. She also co-hosts The Rest is Money podcast alongside Robert Peston, where they break down major economic and financial stories for a wide audience.
