Tommy Tiernan is a comedian who sells more DVDs in Ireland than anyone else. His DVDs normally hit the No.1 spot and most reach Platinum Status and even pick up the odd award. For ticket sales in Ireland, he’s constantly breaking records. Apart from U2, Tommy Tiernan sells more tickets than any other artist in the country.

He’s appeared on Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.  Tommy also played the the part of the depressed Father Kevin in an episode of the sitcom Father Ted. This was the part where Ted prevented Father Kevin jumping to his death at the “It’s Great Being a Priest” Conference.

Not only has Tommy seen success at home in Ireland and the UK but also in Canada and Australia. Also New Zealand and America. The Gala performance in the Just for Laughs Tour in Montreal in 2005, saw 2000 Canadians on their feet crying out for more. In 2006 he headlined the first ever Irish gala at the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival. Tommy was invited to join the Just for Laughs National Tour in 2007. Tommy Tiernan was invited back to perform a solo run at the Toronto Comedy Festival. He was also booked for a massive Solo Nationwide Canadian tour.

In 2009 Tommy set the Guinness World Record for the longest Stand-Up Comedy Show by an individual by a staggering 36 hours and 15 minutes.

Tommy Tiernan has performed in The Royal Albert Hall and completed a sell out solo tour of Australia and New Zealand, The Udderbelly Festival in London, The Toronto Just For Laughs Festival in Canada, The Edinburgh Festival to 5 star reviews & headlining “The Michael McIntyre Comedy Roadshow” in the UK.

Tommy has 5 children and is married to Yvonne. They live in Galway on the West coast of Ireland.
