Yasin Kasirga is an internationally recognised energy leader, decarbonisation expert and keynote speaker who has spent more than two decades delivering large-scale energy projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Throughout his career, Yasin has contributed to the development of more than 11 GW of energy capacity, including over 25 wind farms and major investments across gas, renewable energy, carbon capture and hydrogen technologies. Today, he leads the Decarbonization business for the Middle East and Africa at GE Vernova, helping organisations accelerate the transition to a lower-carbon future. Renowned for making complex sustainability and energy topics accessible to diverse audiences, Yasin combines technical expertise with strategic insight to explain the leadership, innovation and trade-offs shaping the global energy transition.
Yasin’s career has spanned sales, strategy, market development and the execution of complex energy infrastructure projects. He has led multi-sector, multi-technology energy business development initiatives in Türkiye and held senior management positions overseeing critical power and industrial infrastructure projects across Europe and the Middle East. During this time, he managed more than $1 billion in EPC contracts while contributing to the delivery of over 5 GW of gas-fired power generation and 6 GW of renewable energy assets, including hydroelectric, solar, geothermal and wind power projects. His current role at GE Vernova sees him driving market strategy and execution for low-carbon power generation and industrial decarbonisation solutions across one of the world’s most rapidly evolving energy regions.
In 2023, Yasin played a significant role on the global climate stage as a Senior Energy Advisor to the COP28 Presidency. Working with the Office of the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change, he contributed to the landmark global pledge to triple renewable energy capacity and double energy efficiency by 2030. He also helped coordinate the influential report supporting these ambitions and was part of the wider team behind the Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter and the Industrial Decarbonisation Alliance. His expertise is underpinned by an Executive MBA, degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration, leadership training through GE’s prestigious XLP programme, studies with Dubai Future Academy and certification from Harvard Business School Online.
Alongside his professional achievements, Yasin is deeply committed to developing future sustainability leaders. He is currently a PhD candidate at UCAM, researching stakeholder engagement and carbon management effectiveness in net-zero energy projects. He actively mentors young professionals through programmes including Masdar’s Youth4Sustainability and Injaz UAE. He has also served as Chapter Organiser for the Harvard Business School Online Dubai Chapter, supporting a network of more than 400 alumni across the Middle East and Africa, while contributing to sustainability initiatives through various industry and business organisations.
