Former Stand-Up Comedian, Television Presenter, BBC Two Lightning Host, Live at the Apollo Comedian & Celebrity Mastermind Winner

Zoe Lyons is a comedian and television presenter who hosted the prime time BBC Two quiz show Lightning. She has appeared on Have I Got News For You, House of Games and Live at the Apollo, and won Celebrity Mastermind in 2015 with Quentin Crisp as her specialist subject. She returned to the famous black leather chair in 2020 for a Champion of Champions special alongside Miles Jupp, Lucy Porter and Neil Hannon. Her areas of expertise include marine life and diving, ultra marathon running, LGBTQIA+ topics and alopecia awareness.

Before moving into comedy, Zoe had already appeared on television as a contestant on ITV’s Survivor in 2001. In 2004 she won the Funny Women Award, which led to touring across the UK comedy circuit. Her solo stand up show was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007, and the following year a joke from her show won Dave’s Joke of the Fringe. She then began touring internationally, including performances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Her television and radio appearances include SAS: Who Dares Wins, The One Show and Celebrity Weakest Link. On radio she has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, the long running panel show discussing the week’s news stories. She has also appeared on Just a Minute, one of BBC Radio’s oldest and most popular game shows, originally broadcast in 1967 and hosted for many years by Nicholas Parsons.

Zoe Lyons is available for corporate and private events, performing comedy cabaret and hosting awards ceremonies, as well as working as an experienced virtual host and performer. More recent television appearances include QI, The One Show and Women’s Health, a Channel 5 documentary, with further projects currently in development.
