Former Scottish Footballer & Celtic Legend, 10-Time League Winner & Double Treble Captain
Scott Brown is a former professional footballer, football manager and one of the most decorated captains in Scottish football history. Best known for leading Celtic through one of the most successful periods in the club’s history, Scott won 10 Scottish Premiership titles, six Scottish Cups and six Scottish League Cups while establishing himself as an inspirational leader on and off the pitch. Following his outstanding playing career, he successfully transitioned into management and coaching. Drawing on decades of experience competing and leading at the highest level, Scott is now a sought after speaker, sharing practical lessons on leadership, resilience, teamwork and building winning cultures.
Scott began his senior career with Hibernian, making his first team debut as a teenager before quickly becoming one of Scotland’s brightest young midfielders. His performances earned him a £4.4 million move to Celtic in 2007, then a Scottish transfer record between domestic clubs. Across 14 seasons, he made more than 600 appearances, captained Celtic through an unprecedented era of domestic success and led the club’s famous Invincibles campaign during the 2016 to 2017 season, followed by the historic Double Treble. After leaving Celtic in 2021, Scott joined Aberdeen as player coach and assistant manager under Stephen Glass before retiring from playing to focus on coaching. He became head coach of Fleetwood Town, guiding the club to its first ever FA Cup fourth round in 2023, before returning to Scotland as head coach of Ayr United in 2024, leading the club until 2026.
Throughout his playing career, Scott earned widespread recognition for his consistency, determination and leadership. He collected numerous individual honours, including the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year award and multiple selections in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year. He also represented Scotland on more than 50 occasions and captained the national team, reinforcing his reputation as one of the country’s most influential footballers. His achievements have cemented his status as a Celtic legend and one of the defining figures of modern Scottish football.
Today, Scott is recognised for translating elite sporting experience into valuable leadership insights for organisations, businesses and sporting audiences. His presentations explore how high performing teams are created, how leaders maintain standards during periods of sustained success and how resilience is developed when facing adversity. Combining honest stories from dressing rooms, title winning campaigns and management, Scott delivers practical lessons that resonate with audiences far beyond football, inspiring individuals and teams to embrace accountability, perform under pressure and pursue long term success.
