Anthony’s story began in 2006 following a school trip to Disneyland Paris. Shortly after returning home, he became critically ill after contracting Staphylococcus, Strep-Pneumonia and Influenza simultaneously. As his condition deteriorated, his white blood cell count fell to zero, he suffered seizures whilst in a coma and was resuscitated twelve times. Against overwhelming odds, Anthony survived, but his recovery journey was only beginning. He was forced to relearn basic life skills, including how to walk, talk and breathe independently. Inspired by the healthcare professionals who helped save his life, Anthony became passionate about raising awareness of the vital role played by doctors, nurses and medical teams, using his experience to educate and inspire others.

One of his most significant achievements was helping to secure a £7.5 million partnership between Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and Whitbread Plc. Over a four-year period, he travelled extensively across the UK helping to raise funds that contributed towards the development of a new cardiac wing, enabling the hospital to support approximately 20% more children. His contributions to charity and community engagement earned widespread recognition, including being named on The Independent on Sunday’s Happy List in 2015.
