Olga Koch was high on our list of comedians to see at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe.  Olga’s show: Prawn Cocktail did not disappoint.

We had seen Olga a few years back, when she supported the Canadian comedian Stewart Francis on his 2019 farewell tour. Olga Koch was actually born in St Petersburg in Russia. However, she has stayed in the UK since she was 13 and is now a British citizen residing in London. she also spent some time in the USA which she thinks accounts for her accent.  Olga had studied computer science during her university days and managed to complete an on-line course which gained her a master’s degree. She loves to talk about her travels around the world and it appears she might be a Kylie fan.

She has been nominated and winning awards for her comedy since she started out in 2016.  These include Best Radio Comedy and a nominations for the Chortle Radio Awards in 2022.

She received a Best Newcomer nomination in 2018 and was listed for Best Stand Up Show. This was at the 2021 National Comedy Awards.

Going back to earlier days, Olga was also picked for New Comedy Awards at the BBC in both 2016 and 2017.

Already showing up on television, Olga has appeared on Mock The Week and QI. Also, Richard Osman’s House of Games and Pointless Celebrities to name a few.  Her radio work includes Radio 4’s The News Quiz. She has also twice featured on Des Clarke’s BBC Scotland comedy show, Breaking The News.
